The Client:

The Mondial Group with its divisions Congress Management, Corporate Travel & Events (business travel – air travel, corporate events & incentives, location finder), Destination Management (incoming for FIT and groups), Tour Operator and Tourism (travel agencies) is among the well established travel organizations in Austria. The family owned company with subsidiaries in Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic and Germany generated revenues of more than € 60 mio. in 2018.

The Project:

The incoming business has been under pressure for a while because of the industry’s digital transformation (booking platforms, revenue management tools in the hotel sector and a high degree of transparency for the end customers). The global economic crisis (2009 ff.) and the EU sanctions against Russia (2014 ff.) decreased profitability in city travel. In 2018 the Management Factory worked together with Mondial‘s management on a business planning review with focus on Destination Management. Our recommendations and our  business planning model were the basis for the owner family‘s decision making and the starting point for improvements.
